The Holy Ultra by the numbers

55 miles

of training before that run

Christian and Thomas Hales, 33 and 22, dreamed up the Holy Ultra: a 55-mile run from the Y on Y Mountain in Provo to the U in Salt Lake City, set for game day, Sat., Nov. 7. The brothers grew up in a divided household and tested the route in May.

  • Route: , then 1300 East to Sugar House
  • Aid: convenience stores and gas stations along the way
  • Starts: midnight or 5 a.m., ahead of the 10 a.m. kickoff

Each finisher who signed up earns points for their school, and the brothers hope to make it an annual tradition. As of Friday night, 26 runners had signed up for BYU and seven for Utah.
