For the first time, two top-10 teams are meeting in the rivalry: No. 3 Utah and No. 9 BYU, with a Big 12 championship berth and maybe a College Football Playoff spot in play. A Utah win keeps the Utes undefeated. A BYU loss would be its second conference loss and put it behind Texas Tech.
- Kickoff: Sat., Nov. 7, 10 a.m. MST
- Where: Rice-Eccles Stadium
- TV: ABC. Radio: 700 AM/92.1 FM
The head coaches are friends. Sitake spent 10 years on Utah's staff, eight alongside Scalley, who grew up a Ute fan. "I have a lot of love for Morgan Scalley as a head coach," Sitake said.
“Does God care who wins this game? No. Does he care about people? Yeah. I think we can be better to each other in that realm.”

Scalley also owned up on BYU quarterback Bear Bachmeier, once sure he "cannot throw": "I was wrong, dead wrong." Last year Bachmeier's 22-yard touchdown run on third-and-11 helped BYU win 24-21. "He can hurdle you," Scalley said.
Bachmeier threw for 3,033 yards and ran for 527 last season
