  • On Dec. 5, Utah lawmakers and business leaders traveled to Lima for a trade mission as Delta launched its first nonstop flight from Salt Lake City to Lima. They aimed to boost trade in agriculture and mining, forging stronger ties between Utah and Peru.  Deseret News

CULTURE NEWS

  • Michelin announced Monday that it will feature Utah’s Wasatch Front and Back in its 2026 Michelin Guide Southwest edition. Local culinary leaders say the guide’s upcoming reviews may spotlight emerging restaurants, with full selections revealed at a ceremony next year.  Deseret News

SPORTS NEWS

  • Less than half of Italy’s 2026 Winter Games tickets have been sold, but Italian organizers anticipate growing interest as the torch relay sparks excitement for events starting Feb. 6. Meanwhile, Utah officials predict strong ticket purchases for the 2034 Winter Games to help raise over $1 billion from private sales.  Deseret News
  • BYU has accepted an invitation to play Georgia Tech in the Pop-Tarts Bowl on Saturday, Dec. 27 at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, with kickoff set for 3:30 p.m. EST. The event includes a postgame tradition where the winning team enjoys a Pop-Tart mascot.  Deseret News
