CULTURE NEWS

  • Two 15‐ton WWII shop buildings from Wendover Air Base were donated by the Clyde Companies and moved from Springville back to the Historic Wendover Airfield Museum—one was moved on Nov. 23 and the second is scheduled for December if weather permits. The move required an oversized load permit and a three‐car escort, underscoring the firm’s commitment to preserving local history.  Deseret News

SPORTS NEWS

  • BYU came from behind to beat Dayton 83 to 79 at Walt Disney World and win the ESPN Events Invitational championship + the Cougars turned the game around in the second half. Star players Wright III, Dybantsa and Saunders made key plays in the final minutes + Saunders earned MVP honors.  Deseret News
  • BYU finished the regular season 11-1 with an 8-1 Big 12 record after a comeback win over UCF at LaVell Edwards Stadium and is set to face Texas Tech in the title game on December 6 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. A win will give the Cougars an automatic spot in the College Football Playoff—players and coaches are now preparing for the early kickoff.  Deseret News
  • BYU beat UCF 41-21 in its home finale to remain at No. 11 in both the AP and US LBM Coaches polls while Utah rallied past Kansas 31-21 and dropped to No. 15—CFP rankings will be updated Tuesday at 5 p.m. on ESPN and BYU prepares for its Big 12 championship game against Texas Tech.  Deseret News
