- ➤ Thanksgiving trends data show that in Utah, shoppers favored cream pie—a nod to old tastes—while mashed potatoes topped side orders even as more Utahns looked up chocolate pie online. The report also says dinner prices fell 5% from last year & may affect how families plan their holiday meals. Deseret News

- ➤ Nobel Prize-winning physicist Kip Thorne spoke at BYU’s Joseph Smith Building on Nov. 20—he explained his gravitational wave research that confirmed Einstein’s theory and predicted that new detectors will challenge the current inflation theory. Deseret News
- ➤ Despite visa hurdles and policy changes this fall, Utah universities expanded support for international students—providing updated advice, walk-in help, and community programs. The University of Utah welcomed 3,165 students, BYU enrolled 1,306 from 103 countries, and Utah Tech maintained a record with 230 students—reflecting strong enrollment amid uncertainty. Deseret News

- ➤ Nearly 20,000 customers in Utah County lost power when a damaged power line disrupted service in Saratoga Springs, Eagle Mountain, Lehi, American Fork & Lindon, and officials advised drivers to expect delays while Rocky Mountain Power said full restoration will occur before 10:30 a.m. KUTV
- ➤ The Consumer Product Safety Commission warned Provo residents that lithium-ion batteries in Rad Power Bikes models RP-1304 and HL-RP-S1304 could ignite and explode—after 31 reported fires caused $734,500 in damage. Rad Power Bikes said tests confirmed the batteries met high industry standards and offered an upgrade option for affected e-bikes. Deseret News

- ➤ Utahns Taegan Frandsen Ferrin, Sophie Post and Payton DeGraw helped the U.S. women’s deaf national soccer team win gold at the 2025 Deaflympics in Tokyo by beating Japan 4—0 on Monday. The team has not lost a game since 2005 and this win marks its 8th world title. Deseret News
