- ➤ On Oct. 29, BYU researcher Lincoln Blumell showed that scribes dropped two Greek letters that erased the biblical woman's name Electa from the New Testament. His work with ancient inscriptions—based on careful study over many years—may lead to future Bibles restoring her name. Deseret News

- ➤ Emmy-nominated musician Chad Cannon will return to his Utah roots to present his multimedia benefit concert—Music for the Ocean—at the Waterford School in Sandy on Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. He also will perform in Spring City on Nov. 14 to raise awareness about the urgent threat to coral reefs.
