- ➤ Last year, BYU-Pathway Worldwide student Faith Kisakye gave the opening prayer before a BYU game against Kansas State from Uganda (former offensive lineman Conner Pay credited her prayer with helping the team win 38-9). ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Utahns remain optimistic about their finances even though consumer sentiment fell 8.4% from 80.1 to 73.4 between September and October—according to a survey by Zions Bank in partnership with the University of Utah. A recent report shows the state ranked fourth for household debt increases with borrowing up by $831 per household and average balances of $245,268. Deseret News

- ➤ The FAA said air traffic will drop 10% at 40 major airports, including Salt Lake City’s, because federal workers are still unpaid during the government shutdown set to stretch into November—travelers are already noticing slower security lines. KUTV
- ➤ The Utah Division of Outdoor Recreation announced it allocated $21M to partly fund 38 outdoor projects, with eight receiving over $1M for improvements at sites like Snowland Recreation and Education Area and a trail expansion in Cache County — projects that boost outdoor amenities statewide. The funds, part of its Outdoor Recreation Initiative grant program, reached every region in Utah. Deseret News
