- ➤ A new poll found that most Utahns were living paycheck-to-paycheck and one in four struggled to cover basic expenses because rising inflation, a slow job market, and an ongoing federal shutdown left many federal workers on furlough. Residents including a Heber City couple said rising grocery, utility, and student loan costs have deepened financial challenges—heightening fears over lasting financial instability. Deseret News

- ➤ 22-year-old Adam Burns is setting out on a nine-day, 420-mile run across Utah (beginning Friday from Cornish to St. George) to raise funds and awareness for suicide prevention while supporting the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. He began this effort after personal mental health struggles and has maintained a 491-day run streak (bolstering his social media reach) as he hopes to inspire hope locally. Deseret News
