- ➤ Provo Mayor Michelle Kaufusi said at the Utah Lake Symposium that the Utah Lake Authority will work to remove carp and water-stealing invasive plants from Utah Lake by 2034—steps expected to reduce harmful algal blooms and send more water to Great Salt Lake. The plan targets species that damage native vegetation, aiming to improve the lake’s health for local wildlife and recreation. Deseret News
