BUSINESS NEWS

  • Big Noon Kickoff host Dave Portnoy visited Provo eateries ahead of the Utah-BYU game and his reviews boosted business as he rated Nico’s Pizza (7.4) and BYU Creamery (9.4). Nico’s Pizza ran out of dough and closed Saturday due to high demand, and it will reopen Monday at 11 a.m.  FOX 13

SPORTS NEWS

  • Fox’s national pregame show broadcast live outside LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo ahead of the BYU versus Utah game sparked an early morning rally as students began gathering at 6:30 a.m — fueling a lively build-up to the rivalry.  Deseret News
  • BYU beat Utah 24 to 21 on Oct. 18 at LaVell Edwards Stadium when Bear Bachmeier scored a key 22-yard touchdown after a Utah turnover, earning the Cougars their third win in the rivalry.  Deseret News
  • Utah ski resorts have set opening dates for the 2025-26 season, with Brian Head Resort scheduled to open on Nov. 7 and others like Alta, Park City, and Snowbird planned from Nov. 21 to Dec. 19. The dates remain subject to snowfall —if conditions meet projections— and updates will follow —provided more storms occur—.  Deseret News
