COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Dallin H. Oaks, a former Utah Supreme Court justice, was named the new president of the Church—succeeding the late Russell M. Nelson—and will lead more than 17 million members worldwide. He will work with counselors Henry B. Eyring and D. Todd Christofferson while possibly shifting the focus from global expansion to domestic concerns. Standard-Examiner

- ➤ Dallin H. Oaks was named the 18th president of the church on Monday in Salt Lake City + he selected Henry B. Eyring and D. Todd Christofferson as counselors + Jeffrey R. Holland now leads the Quorum of the Twelve. FOX 13
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ A Wallet Hub report ranked Utah colleges by cost, admission rates and graduation results, placing BYU at the top, the University of Utah second and Utah State University third. The rankings show that tuition differs for in-state and out-of-state students (for example, BYU charges $6,888 for members and $13,776 for non-members) and help families choose the right school. - ➤ A state audit released Tuesday found that nearly all of the 22 reviewed school library books in seven districts contained sexual content and many featured nudity — a finding that may violate Utah Code. The report recommended that preventive policies be developed to stop sensitive materials from entering school libraries. Deseret News
