  • Jenedy Paige, an artist and American Ninja Warrior competitor from Pleasant Grove, turned her grief from losing her son 14 years ago into strength and inspiring paintings—her sold-out Strong Women Experience at the Hale Centre Theatre in Sandy showcased this journey. ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Forecasters say the remnants of Hurricane Priscilla will drive tropical moisture into Utah starting Thursday, bringing isolated showers in central areas and heavy rain—especially from Vernal to St. George—by Friday and Saturday before clearing by Sunday night.  KUTV

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • City Engineer Gordon Haight said the Buckley Draw Fire debris flow report is delayed as city officials review extra rain data to ensure the study is thorough and accurate—confirming that debris originated from the burned scar; the report is expected in a few weeks while the developer will build an extended channel to protect the neighborhood and hold 10 acre feet of debris.  KUTV
  • During a special session held Monday, the Utah Legislature passed SB1011 — a law codifying three pass/fail tests for partisan symmetry in congressional maps under Proposition 4 — by votes of 22-7 in the Senate and 55-18 in the House.  Deseret News

  • World Athletics President Sebastian Coe said there is a good chance cross-country running and cyclocross will be added to the 2030 Winter Olympics in the French Alps—plans that could affect Utah’s 2034 Winter Games. Utah leaders offered mixed views as Fraser Bullock said it is too early to comment while Senate Majority Assistant Whip McKell urged adding cross-country events beyond the Wasatch Front—further fueling debate.  Deseret News
