- ➤ Utah Valley University had weak safety measures when conservative leader Charlie Kirk was assassinated on Sept. 10 as only six officers and no drone watched the outdoor debate event—experts say that lack of modern tools left him exposed to a sniper. KUTV

- ➤ BYU professor Mary Jane Woodger said Russell M. Nelson changed church practices by shortening Sunday meetings and replacing home teaching with ministering—he made members feel heard and empowered women while stressing the importance of temples. - ➤ Rep. Cory Malloy of Lehi renewed his push to end the sales tax on prescription glasses and contacts—items that most medical purchases do not pay tax on. Local optometrist Dr. Mark Taylor said the extra 7% adds hundreds to each purchase, and Malloy will seek budget cuts in the upcoming legislative session to support the change. KUTV
