- ➤ At the Utah County Fair last week, Craig used the 2025 Genesis GV70 Sport Prestige in Ceres Blue to haul banners, equipment, and supplies from busy fairgrounds while wrapping up fair week; after the fair, the SUV served as his daily ride—offering comfort with quilted leather seats, adaptive suspension, and driver assistance features on local trips. - ➤ BYU’s World of Dance at the Marriott Center and the 2025 Wings and Wheels Airshow at Spanish Fork Airport happened on Sept.27 — Tony Danza will perform at the Covey Center for the Arts on Sept.29 at 7:30 p.m. Daily Herald
- ➤ At a BYU conference on Sept. 25, Sister Amy A. Wright said The Family Proclamation is inseparably connected to Jesus Christ and teaches that marriage and family are key to God's plan. She urged students and faculty to follow these teachings—emphasizing that eternal family unity and divine guidance bring lasting happiness. Deseret News

- ➤ U.S. News & World Report released its new 2026 rankings that list 14 Utah colleges and universities, with BYU ranked as the top overall school and the University of Utah placed second statewide—Utah State was the only other school to make the national list and both BYU and Utah were recognized as best value schools for local students. Prospective students may use this information to compare school programs and overall performance. Deseret News

- ➤ The Alpine Loop in Provo Canyon was closed Saturday morning due to heavy traffic — officials say it is not yet known when the route will reopen. FOX 13
- ➤ Legislative auditors released a report on Thursday that said the office watching Medicaid failed to properly oversee the state's $5 billion program — the report offered three options for lawmakers: set up an oversight board, move audit work, or dismantle the office. Interim inspector general Neil Erickson said the office will work with lawmakers to fix these issues as it changes its leadership and structure. Standard-Examiner

- ➤ Maeser Prep Academy girls won 2-0 over American Heritage on Thursday, with junior Tess Jorgensen scoring an early goal and sophomore Deberoh Chavez adding a late goal; coach Dustin Simmons said the win builds confidence for the playoffs, and Maeser now holds a 9-5 record (American Heritage stands at 5-6). - ➤ BYU rallied from a 14—0 start to secure a comeback win against Colorado on Saturday as Isaiah Glasker’s final-minute interception sealed the victory and advanced the Cougars to a 4—0 record—freshman quarterback Bear Bachmeier threw for 179 yards and two touchdowns while also running for 98 yards to spark the win. - ➤ Timpanogos High hosted the annual Special Olympics Utah Unified Soccer tournament on September 25—an event that celebrated inclusion as athletes from the Alpine School District competed and advanced to the unified state finals on October 9. Daily Herald
- ➤ Springville beat Maple Mountain 28 to 0 on Sept. 26 in a high school football game. The home team ran for 194 yards and scored key touchdowns from Lisiate Valeti while Maple Mountain, affected by injuries, could not score—marking a strong regional win for Springville. Daily Herald
