- ➤ An Idaho judge who sentenced former BYU baseball player Candon Dahle, accused of lewd conduct with a child, to 180 days in jail and eight years of probation received violent, nationwide threats — prompting extra security measures at the court. KUTV
- ➤ Springville driver Travis McIntyre is charged with automobile homicide and four additional offenses—he allegedly drove impaired and struck Matthew Daines, who pushed his wife to safety from an oncoming truck as they walked home. FOX 13
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Provo Airport security manager Donovan Cheff said that since TSA ended its shoes-off policy in July, wait times have averaged 3–5 minutes — with peak times reaching 15 minutes and travelers enjoying a faster, cleaner process. He noted that extra officers have been ready to open new lanes when needed — ensuring airport safety remains the top priority. Standard-Examiner
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ More than $200M in donations was raised by Utah organizations and foundations before the public launch of Podium34—an initiative to fund the 2034 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. Officials, including Fraser Bullock and Brad Wilson, plan to reach a $300M goal to support sports venues and community programs ahead of the Games. KUTV
- ➤ Utah native Keegan Swenson won the cross-country marathon mountain bike world championship in Switzerland over the weekend—he rode a 125-kilometer race with 5,000 meters of climbing in 6 hours and 1 minute.
