  • A married couple from American Fork found a $25,000 treasure chest on Temple Quarry Trail in Sandy during the Utah Treasure Hunt organized by David Cline and John Maxim. The annual event, which began in 2020, is free and promotes safe outdoor fun + respect for nature.  ABC4

CULTURE NEWS

  • On July 30, the Church of Jesus Christ announced it has added three new Q&A pages that explain Joseph Smith’s character, the translation of the Book of Mormon and the practice of plural marriage—providing clear answers for questions raised by church members and scholars.  Deseret News

SPORTS NEWS

  • BYU football coach Kalani Sitake began fall camp with a close run for the starting quarterback role as Treyson Bourguet, McCae Hillstead and Bear Bachmeier all got equal play time and media interviews to show they can lead the team. The coaches will run additional scrimmages—focusing on decision-making and handling pressure as they decide on a starter before the season begins.  Deseret News
