BUSINESS NEWS

  • A bankruptcy court approved the sale of 23andMe’s assets—including customer genetic data—to TTAM Research Institute, a nonprofit led by the company’s founder, while Utah officials issued a consumer alert advising residents to secure their genetic information. Customers may follow the company’s instructions to permanently delete their data amid ongoing privacy concerns.  ABC4

CRIME NEWS

  • The Utah County Sheriff’s Office arrested 26-year-old Kevin William Golding from Eagle Mountain after a months-long investigation into allegations he had downloaded child sexual abuse material and admitted he fantasized about kidnapping children—he now allegedly faces 13 counts of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor and 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor—and he is held in Utah County Jail without bail.  ABC4

  • State Treasurer Marlo Oaks said parents should teach children about money early to help build good habits. She advised families to review budgets and spending—using free state tools to plan better for the future.  FOX 13
