ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Fifteen cars and several businesses were damaged by a water main break on Center Street in Provo Saturday afternoon when police responded to reports of a sinkhole and a geyser of water shooting high—public works crews shut off water on the north side of Center Street between 100 West and Freedom Boulevard to begin repairs, restoring service by 7:50 p.m. while westbound lanes will remain closed until Monday.  Deseret News
  • A water main line ruptured Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at 168 W. Center Street in downtown Provo, sending water, rocks, and debris that damaged about 15 cars and several businesses—city crews shut off water north of Center Street from 100 West to Freedom Blvd and restored service by 7:40 p.m. while eastbound lanes reopened and westbound lanes remain closed until later today or Tuesday.  FOX 13

CRIME NEWS

  • The U.S. Attorney General dropped all federal charges against plastic surgeon Michael Kirk Moore Jr.—along with his business and neighbor Kristin Jackson Andersen—who were accused of selling fake COVID-19 vaccination cards and destroying vaccines, with his trial having begun today.  Deseret News

  • Listener messages helped shape the Tabernacle Choir’s milestone 5,000th episode of Music & the Spoken Word, which aired Sunday as a special tribute to nearly 100 years of the program’s history—choir members and fans recalled how its music has touched their lives. The broadcast featured a pre-show and post-show with stories that underscored the power of the broadcast—bringing together traditions old and new in one memorable event.  Deseret News
