- ➤ Provo opened the Delta Gateway Park on the west side, a $4M, 3.4-acre park that gives residents access to nearly 300 acres of the Provo River Delta and features a playground, pavilion, restrooms and an outdoor classroom. City officials said the project is an investment in local preservation — funded with more than $3M from the Utah Lake Mitigation Conservation Commission and additional state, local and central funds. - ➤ Xlear, based in American Fork, sued the FTC on June 18 to end rules that stop it from sharing claims about its xylitol-based nasal spray—its CEO celebrated the firm's 25th anniversary at a Tuesday press conference and said the company is fighting to share its research on nasal hygiene. - ➤ On July 24, Utah will celebrate Pioneer Day to honor the Mormon pioneers who traveled 1,300 miles to reach the Salt Lake Valley in 1847. The festival recalls their faith and hard work + marks a key moment in our community's history. ABC4
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Fire restrictions will take effect today on all state and unincorporated lands in Utah+ including Bureau of Land Management, National Park Service and Forest Service lands while excluding Uinta-Wasatch-Cache, Ashley and Sawtooth National Forests. Officials said the restrictions are in response to recent wildfires that burned over 43,000 acres with 275 cases reported as human-caused. FOX 13

- ➤ Gov. Spencer Cox declared Sunday, June 29, as a state Day of Prayer and Fasting for Rain amid rising drought conditions and wildfires that have burned over 43,000 acres in Utah. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Utah now has a total of seven measles cases, including two new cases in unvaccinated individuals — one new case is linked to earlier infections. The Utah Department of Health and Human Services is investigating exposure sites and urges vaccination to prevent further spread. ABC4
