  • Provo celebrated the grand opening of Delta Gateway Park on Wednesday at 311 N. Lakeshore Drive, a 3.4-acre park that acts as a trailhead to a restored Provo River Delta and is part of a $53 million project (spanning four years) to improve local habitats. American Fork will host the grand reopening of its boat harbor at 100 W. Main Street on Monday, June 30 at 10 a.m., following a $3.9 million upgrade (adding new parking, restrooms and a playground) to enhance access to Utah Lake.  Deseret News

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A wildfire, dubbed Cedar Hills Fire 2025 — reportedly sparked by fireworks — started Wednesday evening near Cedar Hills when brush on Mahogany Mountain’s foothills ignited and burned 14 acres near 150 homes, prompting door-to-door evacuations as firefighters worked through the night to contain the blaze.  Deseret News

HEALTH NEWS

  • Health officials confirmed two additional measles cases in Utah, bringing the total to five including two pregnant women; both new cases involved unvaccinated individuals who had contact with previous patients. Officials are tracking exposures and advising women planning pregnancy to get vaccinated — a measure to reduce serious complications.  KUTV
