CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Provo government offices were closed on Tuesday after police received bomb threat calls that targeted the Administration Building at 100 East Center Street and the Historic Courthouse at 51 South University Avenue + over 200 employees were evacuated before officials dismissed the threat as a hoax and launched a joint investigation with federal partners. - ➤ The Utah Supreme Court declined to review Kouri Richins’ appeal to move her murder trial from Summit County to Salt Lake County—prosecutors asked a judge on Friday to lift the stay and set a new trial date in Summit County. Deseret News
- ➤ Provo OBGYN David Broadbent—77 and previously sued by 50 victims in 2022—is now facing ten new felony charges, including object rape and forcible sexual abuse from cases dating to 2004 and 2020 that bring his total to 29 felonies, with a preliminary hearing set for July 22 and a jury trial scheduled for March 2026. - ➤ On Sunday, June 8th, President Russell M. Nelson dedicated the Syracuse Utah Temple in Syracuse (4 p.m.) to mark the 200th temple opened in his lifetime, bringing together church leaders and members from 16 stakes. The temple, set on 12.27 acres near growing housing developments, offers multiple baptistries and a sacred space for spiritual revelation. Deseret News

- ➤ The Utah Department of Transportation announced new ramp metering systems will go into effect tomorrow on the northbound on-ramps at Center Street and University Avenue during weekday afternoon rush hours—aiming to ease heavy traffic.
