ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Gov. Spencer Cox’s emergency drought declaration has expired, but state water managers say water conservation remains essential as summer nears—rising temperatures and increased outdoor use could strain supplies. They urge residents to reduce watering outdoors—farmers and ranchers should soon apply for emergency relief loans as drought continues to affect much of the state.  Deseret News

  • Incoming freshman AJ Dybantsa appeared at the Monaco Grand Prix over the weekend—wearing BYU gear to promote his Red Bull endorsement and bring global attention to the Cougars before his first game.  Deseret News
  • An anonymous Big 12 assistant said BYU’s coach Kalani Sitake built a strong and aggressive team culture—one that helped the Cougars win close games last season and set them up to compete this year even as they work on their offensive line and face a decision at quarterback. He noted that BYU’s defense, led by key players, gives them real problems on the field.  Deseret News
