- ➤ During Military Appreciation Month, the American Red Cross of Utah supports local veterans and active-duty military by offering free mental health services both online and in person—these include workshops like Psychological First Aid and other resources provided by trained volunteers. Volunteers also help care for those at military and veteran hospitals to ensure families receive the support they need. ABC4
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Matthew Menard, 35, of Miami turned himself in to the South Jordan Police Department yesterday and faces charges for aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor, enticement of a minor, and criminal solicitation while Herriman resident Samuel Mitchell was arrested for sexual exploitation of a minor and police continue to search for 15-year-old Alisa Petrov, who disappeared on April 21 after boarding a train toward Provo — anyone with information is urged to call 801-840-4000 — to aid the investigation. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Rep. Doug Fiefia, a new lawmaker who once worked for Big Tech, introduced HB418 to allow Utahns to delete or transfer their online data while Governor Spencer Cox praised the bipartisan effort during a ceremonial signing in April. Fiefia said the bill will shift power back to the people and set the stage for future actions on regulating emerging technologies. Deseret News
