CRIME NEWS

  • Prosecutors in Provo played 911 calls and body cam footage at the preliminary hearing where Tracey Grist of American Fork and her daughter Kathryn Restelli faced charges for allegedly taking part in the July fatal shooting of son-in-law Matthew Restelli — the lead detective noted details like a knife in the victim’s hand and eight shell casings at the scene.  KUTV

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • In April, Gov. Spencer Cox declared an emergency drought for 17 counties as southwest Utah reached its driest levels since records began in 1895, and the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food launched a relief program offering up to $100,000 low-interest loans per producer with $2 million in total aid—applications are accepted until Oct. 23.  Deseret News
  • Less than a month after Gov Cox declared a state of emergency over low snowpack in 17 counties, eligible farmers can apply for a $2 million relief loan fund with loans up to $100,000 on a seven-year schedule—applications end Oct. 23.  ABC4
