- ➤ Nearly 1,500 kids and adults with special needs fished at Salem Pond on Tuesday, May 13th — 500 volunteers and local agencies helped prep rods and hook fish so every participant could experience catching their own fish. The 34th annual event provided special education students with a rare outdoor experience and hands-on learning opportunity. Deseret News
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Utah Valley University is expanding its Credit for Prior Learning program so more students can earn college credit for real-world experience—military service, work, and volunteer activities count for credit in areas like business and health sciences. Eligible students can complete an online checklist to apply for credit and shorten the path to graduation—school officials expect the new program to improve completion rates. Deseret News

- ➤ The Utah Department of Corrections signed an agreement with ICE on May 14 to transfer inmates without legal status to ICE custody after they complete their sentences.
