  • Neighbors near Slate Canyon are worried about a proposed relocation of the Splash Summit waterpark because it could remove green space needed for local recreation. Katherine Hall and other residents have started a petition with 600 signatures & they urge the city to protect the area as developers plan a mixed-use project that may include hotels, retail, and housing.  FOX 13

  • South Jordan police are searching for 15-year-old Alisa Petrov, who was last seen on April 11 after leaving her American Fork school, riding a train from Provo, and asking for help reaching Las Vegas—Texas police have joined the effort following a tip linking a man in Texas with her online communications.  FOX 13
  • South Jordan police have a new cyber-tip—linking 15 year old Alisa Petrov to an adult man in Texas—and are working with Texas City police on her disappearance after she was last seen in Provo on April 21 while trying to meet people online.  KUTV

  • BYU women's volleyball coach Heather Olmstead said Mother's Day reminds her of deep faith and family—she recalled how Dr. Russell M. Nelson saved her mother Trudy's life 45 years ago—and noted that this miracle still guides her coaching and personal life.  Deseret News
  • Mia Sim, the Provo Mermaid, won a world record in speed and international honors at the 2024 Mermaid Olympics and will defend her title in Germany on May 24 as vice captain for Team USA.
