  • Defining Courage, a show about World War II Japanese American soldiers, will perform at the Mid Valley Performing Arts Center in Taylorsville on May 29 — the blend of live storytelling, historic footage and music will honor sacrifice during Memorial Day weekend and Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.  KUTV

  • Utah schools and universities warned parents against phishing scams after a cyberattack on Canvas reportedly exposed user data. Districts said passwords and sensitive details were not compromised + urged caution when checking unsolicited emails.  KUTV

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Lake Powell is expected to receive its lowest natural snowmelt inflows since the 1960s amid record-low snowpack and near-record drought lowering the Provo River runoff. State leaders are bracing for water restrictions — officials plan to act to manage the severe drought.  Deseret News

HEALTH NEWS

  • A 7-year-old cancer survivor is asking locals to donate blood today at Lindon City Community Center from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Quinn needed 41 blood transfusions to fight neuroblastoma and says donations help other kids; donors using code (fightcancer) by May 17 will get a $20 Amazon gift card.  KUTV
  • A Utah resident aboard a cruise ship with a hantavirus outbreak is among 17 citizens under health monitoring as three passengers died. The ship is bound for the Canary Islands; federal officials will quarantine passengers in Nebraska (the return date for the local resident is pending).  FOX 13
