- ➤ A change in the state’s newborn safe haven law took effect Wednesday, allowing parents to safely relinquish custody of infants up to 90 days old at any hospital in Utah. The law expansion—replacing the previous 30-day limit—seeks to protect newborns by ensuring they receive prompt medical care and are placed for adoption. Deseret News

- ➤ BYU basketball center Xavion Staton has arrived in Provo and is settling in by training with strength coaches, taking classes, and preparing for summer workouts. - ➤ Riders will join the eighth Golden Spoke Bike Ride that covers over 100 miles of trails linking communities from Ogden to Provo and offers several ride options. Organized by the Jordan River Commission, the event starts at 6 a.m. from multiple entry points and ends at the Skippers Bay Trailhead (free UTA pass provided) (registration required) on Saturday.
