- ➤ An 18-year-old man from Provo was charged with robbing three high school students of their backpacks while walking to class at Paul Ream Wilderness Park by holding a gun to them—police tracked his vehicle using school surveillance video and arrested him at an apartment complex. Deseret News
- ➤ A Utah family hopes for the safe return of their 15-year-old daughter who disappeared on April 21 after leaving school in American Fork—she was last seen at Provo Central Station boarding a train, and police suspect she may have been meeting online contacts that led her toward Las Vegas as a $20,000 reward is offered for tips. - ➤ U.S. News & World Report ranked Utah as the best state in the nation for the third year in a row based on 71 metrics in eight categories, citing a strong economy, low crime & fiscal stability. Gov. Spencer Cox praised Utah's competitive edge and the hardworking nature of its residents, noting that their collaboration keeps the state ahead. Deseret News
- ➤ Utah Lt. Gov. Deidre Henderson paused HB267 so the collective bargaining ban will not take effect on July 1. The temporary stay means the law remains on hold—until further action is taken or the referendum, which already has over 245,000 signatures, moves forward for the 2026 election. Deseret News

- ➤ BYU players Keba Keita, Khadim Mboup, and former Cougar Mawot Mag will join Africa Elite Basketball Camps this summer in Senegal on June 3 to 4 and in Mali on June 7 to 8 to support local youth and offer educational opportunities through sports.
