A man detained Friday for allegedly brandishing a gun at Provo Town Center was arrested after police searched his Orem apartment and found 71 homemade bombs and related materials — officials said the devices contained shrapnel and explosive powders that posed serious risks.

Utah had a mixed snowpack season—northern areas got enough moisture while southern areas did not, prompting Governor Cox to issue two emergency orders to address wildfire and drought risks as the snow melts.
