EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Six occupational therapy students were honored at RMU’s spring convocation on April 10 — the inaugural cohort of the new program — for earning their Doctor of Occupational Therapy degrees by shaping the program with active feedback. Daily Herald
- ➤ Brigham Young University held its commencement on Thursday morning at the Marriott Center, where Elder Ulysses Soares encouraged 6,864 graduates to share the light they developed at BYU (a call to unite academic learning with faith). Further college ceremonies are planned on campus through Friday. Daily Herald
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ The Cleveland Browns selected BYU tight end Carsen Ryan, 248th overall, on Saturday, Apr. 25; he recorded 45 receptions and three touchdowns last season and becomes the second BYU player picked in the draft. KUTV
- ➤ BYU linebacker Jack Kelly from Kearns was chosen by the New York Giants in the sixth round as the 193rd overall pick at the NFL Draft Saturday. He played 25 games at BYU and served as a key defensive leader. KUTV
- ➤ The Denver Broncos selected Utah tight end Dallen Bentley in the seventh round of the NFL Draft last Saturday. Bentley, a Taylorsville native from the Utes who had 48 receptions last season, was the 256th overall pick — the second-to-last selection. KUTV
