ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Late Saturday night, a video shows a woman in Springville getting help from a Good Samaritan to exit her car at a crossing near 400 North and 400 West just seconds before a train struck the vehicle and carried it 100 yards—no one was injured as Springville Fire and Rescue praised the train engineer’s quick braking. FOX 13

- ➤ A new WalletHub study found four Utah cities are among the top 20 best places to start a business. St. George topped the list while Cedar City, Washington, and Midvale earned high rankings—showing the state’s strong business-friendly environment. ABC4
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ City, county and state officials broke ground on a three-year expansion project at Provo Airport on April 14th after the airport set a record in 2024 by serving nearly 900,000 passengers. The project will expand the apron starting this month and add 10 gates, with work finishing by late 2028. KUTV

- ➤ Local hikers in Utah are using the mountains to ease stress and improve their mental health today. Springville resident Kayla Meehan and Provo hiker Tennison Hunter join Timpanogos Hiking Co.—which gives out badges and leads hiking challenges—to help people get outside and connect with nature. - ➤ A new study from EDGE Fall Protection shows Utah has the top three hiking trails in the nation - Angels Landing in Zion National Park earned a perfect score and is now permit-only, while Delicate Arch in Arches and the Navajo Loop and Queens Garden Trail in Bryce Canyon ranked second and third based on review ratings and AllTrails scores. The rankings confirm that Utah trails offer some of the best hiking experiences in the country. FOX 13
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ HGTV’s Rock the Block season six premieres tonight featuring Utah builder Hamlet Homes, which partnered with HomeAid Utah to support homelessness—details include a private event on premiere night and a public tour with an auction on May 30th and 31st, after which the featured homes will be available for purchase. The homes were built at an undisclosed Utah location as part of a renovation challenge. ABC4

- ➤ The Utah Jazz ended their season with a 17-65 record after a loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves — their worst record yet — which gives them the best odds to pick high in the draft lottery on May 12.
