- ➤ Utah comedian Shaun Johnson will begin his live stand-up tour on April 18 (with a Provo show on April 25) as he turns viral sketches and songs into stage shows across Utah, Idaho, and beyond. KUTV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ UVU is hosting The Buried Library, a free four-day international conference that uses artificial intelligence to read ancient Herculaneum papyri. The event takes place at UVU’s Clarke Building with free parking available in Lot L9 for walk-ins. Deseret News
- ➤ BYU leaders packed a time capsule yesterday at Brigham Square during its 150th anniversary, placing measuring tools, an iPhone, sports memorabilia from athletes Richie Saunders and Jane Hedengren, and a diploma from BYU’s early days inside. The capsule will remain sealed for 50 years in the new administration building. Deseret News
- ➤ Organizers for Utah's 2034 Winter Games will launch a pilot Olympic education program in at least six school districts this fall to teach students about the values of the Games and boost local sports involvement. The committee will expand the lessons nationally after the 2028 Summer Games. Deseret News

- ➤ Utah Division of Oil, Gas, and Mining got $5 million to plug orphan wells in Uintah Basin — work began late March and will expand into southeastern Utah over the next two years. The program plans to cap 24 wells to lower the state’s orphan well count. FOX 13

- ➤ Bear Bachmeier wrapped up his first BYU spring camp on Friday, April 3 at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo as alumni celebrated their return to the field; coach Aaron Roderick praised his smart plays and set a goal of 30 touchdown passes with a 70% completion rate for next season. Deseret News
- ➤ The Utah Mammoth unveiled the Zammoth, a ride converted from a 2002 Winter Olympics Zamboni, which debuted for fans during pregame and intermission at a home game last Tuesday.
