CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Church leaders at the General Conference on April 6 told members to build trust in God and care for one another—President Nelson and other speakers said God loves every child. Nearly 100,000 people attended the event at the Conference Center, and leaders urged everyone to live generous, virtuous lives. Daily Herald
- ➤ At the 195th general conference held Saturday, April 5, church leaders spoke for over five hours about growth and change, emphasizing the building of new temples, expanding missionary work and the deepening of Easter traditions—urging members to strengthen family worship and return to their spiritual home. Several speakers offered guidance and invited those who had lost their way to renew their faith. Daily Herald
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Women Building Peace is leading a national quilting project called Quilting for the Constitution: Peace by Piece that asks participants to sew fabric squares with messages urging Congress to protect checks and balances and the rule of law. Jessica Preece from Provo and others will deliver the quilts to legislators in Washington D.C. in May + the campaign encourages creative advocacy. FOX 13
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Keanu Tanuvasa, who played on Utah's defensive line last season, transferred to BYU and will play as a defensive tackle in his final season (final season) when his team meets Utah on Oct. 18 at LaVell Edwards Stadium (LaVell Edwards Stadium).
