- ➤ The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will change its Sunday meeting schedule starting Sept. 6 by replacing alternating classes with two 25-minute blocks after sacrament meeting (with two five-minute transitions) to offer consistent weekly sessions. Deseret News
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ BYU students won top prizes at the Student Emmys last month during the 45th College Television Awards in Los Angeles. Teams received honors in best animation for (Love and Gold) and best comedy series for (Thanksgiving), continuing the university’s strong record in creative programs. Daily Herald
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Extreme drought has affected nearly 60% of Utah as record warmth melted most of the record‐low snowpack, leaving water supply concerns across the state. Local experts in Provo noted that recent storms offered only minor relief as shortages persist into the warm season. Deseret News
- ➤ Utah’s Division of Wildlife Resources advises that if you see a baby bird, check if it has feathers—if not, return it to its nest or set it on a safe branch; if it has feathers, leave it alone as its parents feed it. The rule also applies to ducklings. Deseret News
