ECONOMY NEWS

  • According to IRS data, Californians moved to Utah last year and helped boost local income in Utah County (with nearly $178 million added) even as national immigration slowed growth. More than 80,000 residents moved in and out, adding $500 million overall.  Deseret News

  • AJ Dybantsa celebrated with the BYU women’s team Thursday before weighing his future, as he has yet to decide between returning to college next season or entering the NBA draft (decision due by May 27) while his family considers the benefits of personal growth versus professional risk.  Deseret News
  • BYU running back Sione Moa underwent an emergency fasciotomy— a lifesaving surgery for compartment syndrome— after his leg swelled dangerously last season. He is now practicing at BYU and is 80 to 90% recovered; coach Kalani Sitake expects him to be a key part of the team this fall.  Deseret News
