- ➤ Pleasant Grove opened its 25-acre Cook Family Park last Saturday with a playground, pump track, skate park, basketball courts and futsal area. City officials and residents gathered to celebrate the $20 million park—funded with an $8 million donation from doTERRA founders Greg and Julie Cook—and said more features will open on June 7. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Colton Roger Jones, 18, was charged with 31 counts after he and two juveniles broke into at least 16 vehicles in Eagle Mountain between 1 and 4 a.m. on Sunday, March 16th — he reportedly stole over $1,500 in property and attempted a transaction at McDonald's using a stolen card. KUTV
- ➤ Thieves have drained SNAP benefits from nearly 800 Utah families each month, with Tonie Powell losing her funds in February and again in March—leaving her without food assistance while the state studies a switch to chip-enabled cards to help stop the fraud. KUTV
FINANCE NEWS
- ➤ Nearly 9,000 Utah taxpayers may be owed refunds from 2021 as the IRS announced potential claims totaling $7.5 million with a median refund of about $696. Taxpayers must file a federal return by April 15 — otherwise, unclaimed money will become the property of the U.S. Treasury. Daily Herald
