CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Season Six of 'The Chosen' will be partially filmed in Utah County as the Utah Film Commission announced the production, and show president Brad Peo said the series is pleased to return (he praised the local people and scenic landscapes) while production will use various county locations. Further filming details will be shared as the project moves forward. Daily Herald
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Utah Gov. Spencer Cox said that despite a rise in snowpack—up nearly 3.9 inches since March 3—the state still faces water challenges as water districts and local cities work to limit use, especially in the south. He plans to sign a new water pricing law that starts in 2030 to help manage consumption. Deseret News
- ➤ The Utah Legislature received the Black Hole Award from the Society of Professional Journalists for passing two bills that change the public records appeal process—one to replace the State Records Committee with a governor-appointed attorney and one that makes it hard to recoup attorney fees when challenges are made. Governor Spencer Cox plans to sign the bills soon, while critics argue they lower government transparency. Daily Herald
