  • At Bountiful Veterans Park, a Gold Star mom turns her grief into advocacy by supporting weekly programs from Utah Blue Star Families (a local support group) that help military families. She uses her son’s memory to help others find solace as they honor service.  FOX 13

CULTURE NEWS

  • A study using search data from Feb. 2025 to Jan. 2026 found that Utah ranked fourth nationwide for curiosity about BDSM-related topics, with about 330 searches per 100,000 residents. The report also shows high local interest in a quiz that explains what BDSM means.  FOX 13
  • The Utah Board of Tourism Development approved state film incentives for seven new productions that will bring $12.6 million + create over 600 jobs across 11 counties, boosting opportunities for local talent and strengthening the film industry.  Deseret News

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • State officials said that brush fires burned 11 acres in Spanish Fork and 89 acres near Springville last week, possibly marking an early wildfire season due to low snowpack and dry fuels. The Spanish Fork Fire Department remains on alert and urges residents to manage campfires carefully.  Daily Herald

HEALTH NEWS

  • The American Red Cross is offering a free A1C test for Utah blood donors through the end of March. Executive director Benjamin Donner said the program will help donors learn about their diabetes risk while supporting the blood supply.  FOX 13

  • On Monday night, the Utah Mammoth beat the Stars 6 to 3 after Jack McBain scored a tie-breaking shorthanded goal at 4:16 in the third period — the win ended Dallas’s franchise-record 15-game point streak and boosted the Mammoth’s wild-card lead by five points.  KUTV
  • BYU Cougars will tip off their NCAA Tournament game on Thursday at 5:25 p.m. MDT in Portland as a No. 6 seed; the team aims to overcome a season of injury setbacks and will meet either Texas or NC State next.  Deseret News
