- ➤ At a March 11 address in Provo, BYU football coach Kalani Sitake and Jim Evans (former Orem mayor and Freedom Festival director) were named Utah County Persons of the Year for their leadership and service. Sitake, who opted to remain with BYU, received the honor amid celebration. Daily Herald

- ➤ Flames and black smoke from the 15-acre Miracle Fire were visible between Provo and Springville on Thursday, Mar. 12 at 5:15 p.m. + officials advise drivers to avoid the area as a wind shift may affect Provo Airport. KUTV

- ➤ UT Division of Water Resources teams with Weber Basin Conservancy District and Great Salt Lake Commissioner’s Office to test airborne snow observatory technology for improved water management.
