CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Union Pacific said the world’s largest steam engine, Big Boy No. 4014, will make extra Utah stops on its transcontinental tour celebrating the nation’s founding, with stops in Morgan and Salt Lake City on April 2 and Morgan on April 20 (spectators must stay 25 feet away). Deseret News
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Utah Legislature is reviewing two bills that would let teachers include religious liberty instruction in high school social studies. A House bill would let college students request alternative assignments on religious grounds, and both measures remain under debate to balance classroom neutrality. Deseret News

- ➤ The West Desert Airpark, a public-use facility started by veterans, faces pushback from Fairfield residents who say increased flights cause noise and privacy issues. The Town Council halted further expansion and is working on clear land use rules & the airport is appealing its license decision. Deseret News
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Dallas Earnshaw, superintendent at the Utah State Hospital, has dedicated 42 years to improving mental health care in Provo. He noted a shift from long-term isolation to community care and continuous monitoring as treatments and empathy evolved. Deseret News

- ➤ BYU fell 79 to 71 to West Virginia on Saturday, Feb. 28 as poor rebounding and turnovers led to a double-digit halftime deficit at Hope Coliseum in Morgantown.
