  • Clyde Companies, an Utah-based firm, is partnering with Springville and Provo to develop a new community area on north Main Street and is asking residents for input on plans for Allen’s Block on the south side, which will include housing, retail, and commercial space.  KUTV
  • On Thursday, Elder Clark G. Gilbert was called as the 105th apostle by President Oaks at a BYU devotional—he said in a Feb. 13 interview that Christ always points to a better way, reflecting on decades of faith from childhood to his full-time calling.  Deseret News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Officials including Secretary of Energy Chris Wright+Undersecretary of Defense Michael Duffey witnessed the first C17 airlift of a nuclear reactor that arrived at Hill Air Force Base yesterday. The reactor will be moved to the Utah San Rafael Energy Lab for testing in the DOE pilot program aiming for three reactors by July 4.  FOX 13

  • BYU great Jimmer Fredette had his jersey retired at the Marriott Center as the fifth player honored in the school's history. He celebrated the milestone with his family while fans in Provo recalled his record-setting scoring that once energized college basketball.  KUTV
  • BYU star guard Richie Saunders tore his ACL on Saturday during an overtime win over Colorado, ending his season and college career. The injury means the Cougars must adjust their lineup for upcoming games.  Deseret News
