  • President Dallin H. Oaks delivered his first BYU devotional at the Marriott Center on Tuesday. His address marked his initial message as prophet (appointed in October) and focused on the Lord's love and the importance of following the covenant path.  KUTV
  • Oaks addressed BYU students and church members on Tuesday at the Marriott Center in a devotional attended by over 18,000. He urged them to overcome doubts and strengthen their faith in Jesus by practicing humility and seeking personal revelation (following counsel from Russell M. Nelson).  Daily Herald

  • A WalletHub analysis released this week ranked Utah 11th for educational attainment but rated its quality of education 26th; research from the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute confirms that higher education boosts local earnings + supports income growth.  Deseret News
  • Utah Valley University was named one of the nation’s most affordable online colleges by OnlineU for the second time, and its online enrollment grew by more than 6% between fall 2024 and fall 2025 (the school stays committed to low-cost, flexible learning).  Deseret News
  • Three veteran educators in the Legislature draw on classroom insights to shape education bills. They plan to tackle issues such as chronic absenteeism and AI while missing teaching—a sign they value returning to the classroom and enhancing instruction for Utah students.  Deseret News

  • Utah’s Adult Protective Services substantiates about 5% of abuse allegations, significantly below the national average (29%), while staffing challenges and heavy caseloads affect investigation quality; officials and advocates plan to review measures to improve the process during the legislative session.  FOX 13
