- ➤ On Monday, the Utah Avalanche Center warned that heavy snowfall and strong winds have increased avalanche danger on slopes steeper than 30 degrees after recent avalanches in the Brighton backcountry (two riders escaped critical burial without major injuries), urging backcountry travelers to carry proper rescue gear and travel in pairs. - ➤ BYU students (17 nominees) received five nominations in the Television Academy Foundation’s 45th College Television Awards covering commercials, animated series and comedy.
